When is the liberal left going to take immigration seriously? How many more people need to die? How many cities need to go bankrupt? When will the left finally stop and realize that we should be doing more to make sure we know who is coming into this country? It’s getting pretty frustrating. Especially when you consider the fact that other countries have it figured out. You know how liberals are always talking about how we should be like other countries? Fine, let’s start with emulating Mexico’s immigration policies.

How ridiculous is that?

From Washington Times:

Mexican President Felipe Calderon denounced as “racial discrimination” an Arizona law giving state and local police the authority to arrest suspected illegal immigrants and vowed to use all means at his disposal to defend Mexican nationals against a law he called a “violation of human rights.”

But the legislation, signed April 23 by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, is similar to Reglamento de la Ley General de Poblacion — the General Law on Population enacted in Mexico in April 2000, which mandates that federal, local and municipal police cooperate with federal immigration authorities in that country in the arrests of illegal immigrants.

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.

Would be nice if we could be a little more like Mexico in that department.

Here’s more on what Mexico does.

From National Review:

Law-enforcement officials at all levels — by national mandate — must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal-alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration-enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities. Ready to show your papers? Mexico’s National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens’ identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens. All of these provisions are enshrined in Mexico’s Ley General de Población (General Law of the Population) and were spotlighted in a 2006 research paper published by the Washington, D.C.–based Center for Security Policy. There’s been no public clamor for “comprehensive immigration reform” in Mexico, however, because pro-illegal-alien speech by outsiders is prohibited.

You don’t see anyone running around calling Mexico racist.  How come?

Obama was a disaster when it came to immigration and luckily President Trump is doing his best to completely erase that legacy. The liberal media seems certain that Trump will never get his border wall.  They are in for quite the surprise.
