It’s really hard to take the liberal left seriously when it comes to climate change. Not only do we often see really irrational arguments such as the latest push to start throwing “climate deniers” in jail but the left is constantly wrong about the numbers.

They tell us that 97% of scientists are on the same page on climate change. That’s wrong.

They say that the polar ice caps are disappearing. They aren’t.

They say polar bears are dying. That’s not true.

They say temperatures are rising fast. Nope.

The list of things the left has been wrong about goes on and on and on.

This week, we learned even more information about how lost liberals are on this subject.

Liberals like to claim that the rising costs associated with natural disasters proves that they are correct on climate change.

Surprise. Surprise. That’s not true either.

From The Daily Caller:

Natural disasters did $330 billion worth of damage in 2017, mostly due to hurricanes smashing into the U.S. this fall, making last year the second costliest year for disasters since 2011, according to the reinsurance industry.

Insurers will pay out $135 billion for natural disasters, according to Munich Re, the most on record. Most of the monetary damages came from hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, which hit U.S. and Caribbean islands in the fall. Hurricanes did $215 billion in damage.

While nominal costs of natural disasters — including hurricanes, fires and earthquakes — has grown over time, taking into account inflation and economic growth actually shows disaster costs have been trending down since 1990.

That’s according to research by the University of Colorado’s Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr., who’s spent years studying why natural disaster spending has increased despite no apparent trends in extreme weather.

Well, well, well.

Another narrative busted.

It’s been incredibly cold lately. But, don’t worry. Al Gore is here to reassure us that global warming is actually responsible for how cold it is.

From Breitbart:

Just when you thought the Big Freeze couldn’t get any worse, here’s Al Gore to twist the knife.

Yep. Where others might see a crisis, Al Gore has spotted a Rahm-Emanuel-style opportunity to promote his renewables scam. This bitter cold, he wants you to know, isn’t a sign that his global warming theory is a busted flush. It’s a sign that he’s even more right than ever before!

Well, you’ve got to admire his chutzpah.

We also learned this recently.

From The Daily Caller:

A new study is making waves in the media, claiming to finally address the question of man-made global warming’s role in Hurricane Harvey’s record-setting rainfall.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor Kerry Emanuel, a renowned hurricane expert, and his colleagues published their findings on Monday, claiming global warming increased the of risk Hurricane Harvey-level rainfall in southeastern Texas grew since the last century.

There’s one huge caveat: Emanuel didn’t actually study Hurricane Harvey itself.

Instead, Emanuel’s study is based on thousands of climate model runs to find out the odds a storm will bring the amount of rainfall Hurricane Harvey did when it made landfall in late August 2017.

People with the data on their side don’t need to do stuff like this.
