An Amtrak train transporting Republican Congressmen to a retreat collided with a garbage truck today leaving the vehicle destroyed beside the tracks.

By some reports the driver of the truck is being treated for injuries, but everyone aboard the train was uninjured.

According to Washington Examiner reporter Philip Wegmann, one person was killed in the accident.

The train was traveling to a Republican retreat in Greenbrier, West Virginia, according to The Atlantic’s Elaine Plott.

Plott went on to report that all the members of Congress on the train were OK. But she noted that some did “hit the deck” when the train slammed into the truck.

This is a developing story, so stay tuned for more information.
