Tuesday’s State of the Union was a smash hit and only die-hard ideologues are even attempting to make the argument that Trump didn’t do well. That’s not spin. Check out what some of the polls are saying…
From CBS News:
Eight in 10 Americans who watched tonight felt that the president was trying to unite the country, rather than divide it. Two-thirds said the speech made them feel proud, though just a third said it made them feel safer. Fewer said the speech made them feel angry or scared.
On some of the specific issues the President touched upon, most viewers had a favorable opinion of what Mr. Trump had to say about the nation’s infrastructure, immigration, and national security.
And after hearing him speak tonight, 54 percent of speech watchers give him a lot of credit for the current state of the nation’s economy, up from 51 percent before they watched the State of the Union.
Hard to argue with that.
But, Democrats did try and argue. In fact, they had 6 different responses to Trump’s SOTU and each one was an incoherent mess of old ideas and fear mongering. The most talked about response to the SOTU was by Joe Kennedy III. For as much as the left likes to lecture us about diversity and new ideas isn’t it a little odd that they chose a wealthy Kennedy to respond to Trump.
The reaction most people had to Kennedy’s speech was, “what the heck is that on his lips?”
Kennedy said it was chapstick and not drool like a lot of people thought. But who cares let’s move on to the actual substance of what Kennedy said because it was equally as bizarre.
At one point during his speech, Kennedy thought it would be appropriate to pander to the Hispanic community by speaking Spanish.

Let’s just say that didn’t turn out well.
From The Daily Caller:
Rep. Joe Kennedy III addressed DACA recipients in Spanish during his response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Unfortunately for him, the liberal base may have found his attempts to be more offensive than they were honorable. People pointed out his lack of fluency and the obvious attempt to pander to immigrants.
Multiple people noted that it could be “condescending” to assume that DACA recipients do not speak English and need to be addressed in Spanish.
“News alert: dreamers speak more English than Spanish,” Father Jonathan Morris tweeted. “They came here as kids.”
Here are some responses from Twitter.
You get the idea. A lot of people out there saw right through his pandering.
You can watch his full speech below but it’s a complete waste of time.
