Democrats have openly embraced Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, as evidenced by multiple photos of Congress members and the noted anti-Semite.
Likewise, Dems have shown they’re willing to bend to the will of Iran – the world’s largest state sponsor of terror.
With all that said, it makes sense three Democrats attended a private dinner with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Farrakhan back in 2013.
Here are the details…
From Daily Caller:
Three Democratic congressmen attended a private dinner hosted by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in 2013, a new report reveals.
Reps. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Andre Carson of Indiana and Gregory Meeks of New York attended the private dinner, along with Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite who leads the black supremacist group Nation of Islam.
Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorism, according to the United States government, which has listed the Islamic Republic as a state sponsor of terror since 1984. Rouhani was in New York for a United Nations meeting and held the dinner party just hours after speaking to the UN General Assembly.
Final Call, a Nation of Islam publication, noted the three Democrats’ attendance at the time and included photos of Ellison and Meeks at the dinner party. But aside from the Final Call article, the three Democrats’ presence at the dinner remained secret until a Wall Street Journal column revealed it on Friday. None of the three congressmen’s offices responded to The Daily Caller’s request for comment for this article.
Former divider-in-chief Barack Obama knows how to pander with the best of them. After all, he managed to convince people to elect him president not once, but twice.
While speaking at a synagogue in New York, Obama claimed he’s ‘basically a liberal Jew.’
Mighty big talk from a guy who’s administration never cared to help Israel for nearly a decade, huh?
Check this out…
Former President Barack paid a visit to a New York City synagogue this week where he implied that his criticism of Israel while he was in office was just tough love and that he at heart “basically a liberal Jew” as he defended his policies.
Obama’s speech to worshippers at Manhattan’s Temple Emanuel is yet another example of how he continues to meddle in the nation’s foreign policy after he left office.
Haaretz has more:
In a rare public appearance, former U.S. President Barack Obama spoke at a synagogue in New York City this week about his relationship with the Jewish community and his administration’s policy toward Israel. Obama described himself as “basically a liberal Jew” and said that criticizing Israel’s settlements in the West Bank was part of his support and friendship to Israel.
The event at Temple Emanuel in Manhattan marked the first time that Obama spoke publicly about Israel since leaving office. The 44th president said that his administration gave Israel more military support than any previous administration, referring to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United States and Israel during his last year in the White House. “This is not a matter of dispute,” he said.
Obama defended his decision to abstain at a December 2016 UN Security Council vote denouncing Israeli settlements. He explained that vetoing the resolution would have hurt “our credibility on human rights.” He also stated that “to be a true friend of Israel it is important to be honest about it, and the politics of this country sometimes do not allow for it.”
Is this the same Obama who posed for a photo with Farrakhan?
From Talking Points Memo:
A journalist announced last week that he will publish a photograph of then-Illinois Sen. Barack Obama (D) and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan that he took in 2005 at a Congressional Black Caucus meeting, but did not make public because he believed it would have “made a difference” to Obama’s political future.
The photographer, Askia Muhammad, told the Trice Edney News Wire that he “gave the picture up at the time and basically swore secrecy.”
