John Bolton is a little too much of a war hawk for a lot of Trump supporters and his neocon roots aren’t exactly ideal. He’s one of those guys who still thinks the Iraq War was a great idea and that’s a position that has become increasingly unpopular on the GOP side since Trump came around. But, at the same time, John Bolton is a smart guy and he’s rock solid when it comes to Israel, Iran, North Korea, and some other foreign policy areas.
On Wednesday, John Bolton showed up at a White House press conference and reminded us all that he’s the real deal when it comes to Israel and ‘Palestine’.
A reporter got a little annoyed that Bolton referred to Palestine as a ‘so-called state’. Bolton is obviously correct. Palestine is not a state. They call themselves one but they aren’t recognized by the national community and Bolton pushed right back at the reporter who didn’t understand that reality.
From Fox News:
National Security Adviser John Bolton said at a press briefing Wednesday that “it’s accurate” to refer to Palestine as a “so-called state.”
Bolton made the remark – also using air quotes when he said Palestine – while answering a question about the president’s goal of achieving a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He was then pressed by a reporter on whether the language would be “productive” to achieving a two-state solution.
“It’s accurate. … It’s not a state now,” he said, explaining the Palestinian territories do not meet the “customary international law test of statehood.”
Reporter: You just addressed Palestine and said it is a "So-called state."

How amazing was that?
He’s 1,000% right and that’s not an opinion it’s a fact. Palestine is not a country. It’s not a state. Regardless of if whether or not that hurts your feelings.
Here’s the full press conference.
Overall, John Bolton is a good guy to have in the president’s ear especially if he keeps it up with comments like this.
