It’s been a positive thing to see talks start again between North Korea and South Korea, and to see them march into the Olympic stadium together on Friday night during the opening ceremonies. But at the same time, one can’t or shouldn’t forget the nature of the North Korean dictatorship and how they have threatened the U.S. and our allies, as well as oppressed their own people. But you wouldn’t know that from the reaction of some liberals and the coverage by CNN.

North Korea sent Kim Jong Un’s sister to the games as the country’s representative. How CNN covered her was as if she were a rock star and not the Director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department for her brother, essentially his Joseph Goebbels.

From Daily Caller:

CNN featured the article, titled, “Kim Jong Un’s sister is stealing the show at the Winter Olympics,” prominently on their front page and dubbed Kim Yo Jong — a high-ranking official in the murderous regime — “North Korea’s Ivanka Trump.”

“If ‘diplomatic dance’ were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s younger sister would be favored to win gold,” the article read. “With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea’s presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Games.”

She’s reportedly the leading force behind the cult of personality built around her brother, imitating that of their grandfather Kim Il Sung. She organizes the major public events in North Korea, which are all shows honoring her brother ultimately.

And in January 2017, she was named to the U.S. Treasury’s Specially Designated Nationals List of people that Americans citizens and companies are forbidden to do business with because of human rights abuses in which she’s been involved in North Korea.

That might explain at least in part why Vice President Mike Pence didn’t shake hands with her, as that could be viewed as complete acceptance of her and her dictatorial regime. He showed very clearly that while he was there to lead the U.S. delegation, he was keeping human rights uppermost in his mind because he took Otto Warmbier’s father with him to South Korea.

Liberals cheered that Kim Yo Jong appeared to shoot Pence the evil eye during the opening ceremonies as she was sitting behind him and joked how they wished her looks could kill, seeming not to care about who she was or what she represented.

No, liberals, you shouldn’t cheer her and no, CNN, she isn’t Ivanka Trump. Ivanka isn’t involved with a murderous regime that has concentration camps and kills anyone who they want, despite how you might dislike her.
