Bill Murray Can’t Take It, Turns Back on Liberal Hollywood — Says What We’ve Known for Years

Funnyman Bill Murray crushed identity politics during an interview with CNBC. In a nutshell, he leveled his far left Hollywood peers with just a few short sentences.

Here are the highlights…

From Daily Wire:

On Friday, iconic comedian Bill Murray took on identity politics and political correctness that are consuming comedy. Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Murray lamented politicians, particularly Democrats, perpetually separating the American people into groups based on identity instead of speaking to the whole, which he says is being reflected in comedy.

[…]

“My friend who’s a great comedy writer, Jim Downey, he’s accused of being a right-wing comedy writer, if there is such a thing,” said Murray. “‘No, no,’ he says, ‘I just think the way Democrats handle things is poor. They pick out little pieces of a population and say they represent it—we represent the Hispanics, we represent the LGBT, or something.’ They’re not speaking to everyone at once. It’s almost demeaning to say I’m choosing you, because you’re a splinter group, there’s almost a resentment, to say you’re my people. We’re being separated again by a politician.”

CNBC has more on Murray:

Comedian and entrepreneur Bill Murray told CNBC on Friday that the climate in Hollywood has changed following numerous women coming forward to tell their experiences with sexual harassment.

“If people are monstrous, it eventually comes back,” Murray said in an interview on “Squawk Box.” “We get justice, but we don’t get it when we want it. …This is unusual. People are getting their justice rather quickly.”

The #MeToo movement became a social force after The New York Times’ blockbuster expose in October revealed a pattern of sexual abuse and unwanted physical contact by disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.

“It’s interesting when this kind of movement happens,” Murray said. “It creates a kind of compost or fertilizer to make the next stage happen. … Obviously, things swing back and forth.”

Murray recently portrayed former White House adviser Steve Bannon on Saturday Night Live.

From The Hill:

“My friend called me up and said, ‘Would you like to be Steve Bannon?’ I said, ‘Who wouldn’t? Sure, OK, I’m going that way anyway,’ ” Murray recalled. “And they had a really good wig.”

Bannon departed the White House in August and returned to his previous job as the executive chair of Breitbart News.

But he was pushed out of that role in January after he was quoted in a book, “Fire and Fury” by New York media writer Michael Wolff, speaking critically of Trump and his family.
