There are a lot of people out there who believe that Norm MacDonald is the greatest stand up comedian who ever lived. If you’ve seen him perform or found yourself lost in the hours and hours of amazing videos of him on YouTube then you probably understand why they think that.

When Norm speaks people listen whether it’s the comedy world or the world world.

In the world world, Norm recently opened up in an interview about his thoughts on the hysterical #MeToo movement that started out as a good thing and snowballed out of control into a very strange thing.

His comments are probably going to ruffle a few feathers but he’s absolutely correct.

From Breitbart:

Comedian Norm Macdonald said in an interview published Tuesday that the #MeToo movement could eventually end with an innocent person committing suicide over a false allegation.

“I’m happy the #MeToo movement has slowed down a little bit. It used to be, ‘One hundred women can’t be lying.’ And then it became, ‘One woman can’t lie.’ And that became, ‘I believe all women.’ And then you’re like, ‘What?’ Like, that Chris Hardwick guy I really thought got the blunt end of the stick there,” Macdonald told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Now it’s admit wrongdoing and you’re finished. And so the only way to survive is to deny, deny, deny. That’s not healthy — that there is no forgiveness. I do think that at some point it will end with a completely innocent person of prominence sticking a gun in his head and ending it. That’s my guess. I know a couple of people this has happened to,” he added, citing Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr.

Norm also defended his friend Roseanne as well as Louis C.K.

From Hollywood Reporter:

Well, Louis [C.K.] and Roseanne [Barr] are the two people I know. And Roseanne was so broken up [after her show’s reboot was canceled] that I got Louis to call her, even though Roseanne was very hard on Louis before that. But she was just so broken and just crying constantly. There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day. Of course, people will go, “What about the victims?” But you know what? The victims didn’t have to go through that.

I always knew her as a very left-wing person. On the original show, she had [a network sitcom’s] first gay couple. She would always want more minorities on the show, on the writing staff. When she did this [reboot,] it was all her idea to get all these different orientations and religions and so forth represented. So that’s how I always knew her.

I had looked on her Twitter feed once in a while. I really couldn’t understand her because I am not that worldly in politics. Her feed was so arcane about these Middle East politics. What I do know is that she is a single-issue motivated person. And that issue is Israel. That’s all she cares about politically. She is left wing in everything else. But that is why she did not like the Obama administration, because they snubbed Netanyahu. I believe that is the only reason that she voted Trump. She is certainly not a racist. That’s just crazy.

What did he say that controversial there? There’s no doubt the #MeToo movement has gotten a little out of control and there’s also no doubt that innocent people have had their careers taken away. Norm thinks maybe we should slow down on that a little and he also doesn’t think one tweet makes Roseanne a racist.

Very reasonable.

Unfortunately, Norm was forced to apologize after liberals lost their minds.

‘The Tonight Show’ cancelled his appearance.

From Hollywood Reporter:

NBC has canceled an appearance by Norm Macdonald on Tuesday’s Tonight Show hours after the comedian issued an apology for comments about Roseanne Barr, Louis C.K. and the Me Too movement made during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“Out of sensitivity to our audience and in light of Norm Macdonald’s comments in the press today, ‘The Tonight Show’ has decided to cancel his appearance on Tuesday’s telecast,” a Tonight Show spokesperson said.

What an insane world we live in. If you read that interview and your takeaway was that Norm supports women being assaulted that’s ridiculous. This is the problem. People aren’t allowed to even speak anymore. Voicing an unpopular opinion gets you shunned by the hysterical social media mobs. It’s killing free speech, it’s killing careers, it’s killing decency.

Norm has a new show coming out this Friday on Netflix. Don’t miss it.
