If you get started with some light reading first and then get into some deeper stuff, you will find that you feel smarter and sharper than before. Reading is about having the discipline to sit and digest a story, it will teach you a great deal about a wide variety of topics and it also encourages you to be creative by helping you to imagine, a key component in increased intelligence.
